Jazz great David Frishberg, who died last year, got his start at the U of M in the 1950s, later rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in music. And in the mid-’70s, he entertained newer generations with the tunes he wrote for ABC’s <i>Schoolhouse Rock</i>.
