Fellow paddler
Re. the article in the last issue by President Rebecca Cunningham [“Leading by Listening, Fall 2024], I am most pleased that a fellow Boundary Waters canoer is now president of the U of M. Long ago, I spent three summers leading canoe trips there, two for YMCA Camp Menogyn and one for a private girls’ camp. I know well how that experience adds to one’s physical, mental, and emotional development.
Sorry, but I have to go now. The summer is waning, and my paddle is waiting.

Correction
Despite being the only family member with a U of M degree, the latest edition of the alumni magazine [“All in the Family,” Fall 2024] makes me feel part of a large clan. However, I believe there’s a small error: the photo on page 35 of Marilyn Porter’s parents with a Gopher basketball coach is incorrectly labeled. If I am not mistaken, the coach pictured is Tubby Smith, not Clem Haskins.
