 MISSION
Since 1901, the University of Minnesota's alumni publication's purpose has been -- as editor E.B. Johnson wrote in the first issue September 14, 1901 -- "To make the alumni acquainted with what is going on at the University at all times, and to foster a genuine University spirit among the alumni, by keeping them in touch with the University and each other."

Minnesota proudly carries on that
mission.
HISTORY
From AIDS to Zzyzo: A Century of Stories
For 100 years, the alumni magazine has been a chronicler of University happenings, a voice of alumni, and a forum for exploring new ideas. Here are 100 excerpts and summaries of stories that appeared in the alumni magazine in its century of publication.

Witness to a Century
One hundred years old, the alumni magazine offers a rich record of the University and the events that have touched its alumni through the years. The cover of the first issue of the Minnesota Alumni Weekly (left), September 14, 1901, announced the death of President William McKinley.
