The Mentor Programs of the University of Minnesota work in collaboration with college-based alumni societies, University departments and community organizations. Currently, there are ten different
collegiate mentor programs connecting alumni and students in formal mentor pairings. Apply to be a mentor by selecting the collegiate mentor program the matches your career experience.
Since the early '90s, our Mentor Programs have matched more than 16,000 students with alumni or friends of the University of Minnesota. These relationships have provided a learning experience for students outside the classroom and insight to career options after college.
The Mentoring Relationship
Mentor programs are housed and managed within the collegiate units and their alumni societies. Each fall, students and alumni are matched based on applications and career preferences. The program concludes in April with the annual Mentor Appreciation event. Mentoring relationships are intended to:

Events for Mentors & Students
The University of Minnesota Alumni Association, in collaboration with the collegiate mentor programs, provides programming and events for mentors and students throughout the year. Mentor events and career programming are listed below and both mentors and students are welcome to attend.
